So, when asked to re-design a website for a public figure what did we suggest?
Aside from all the usual elements that form the website the most important thing that this website should do, is interact with its audience. A website for a public figure will be more effective if it results in a two way communication as it:
There are many tools and elements at hand to help create this communication, for this project we recommended:
A personal blog: Blogging can be a great way to demonstrate what you are doing on a daily basis and allowing comments encourages people to communicate back, creating a two-way dialogue.
Surveys: an effective way of interacting with the audience and online surveys can be used to gauge opinions - local media engage with facts and number, so great for PR opportunities too!
Data capture and e-marketing: Capturing email addresses from your audience will enable you to correspond with them on a regular basis. Emails can be used to communicate messages to an entire database extremely cost effectively.
Social networking: There are many social network groups out there, successfully used by public figures, to communicate to a wider audience. We can help you use these tools effectively and also integrate them within your website.
Fireboy Design can point you in the direction of how to make the best use of the many tools available.
